Red Bull has introduced a new sidepod package for the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix in their pursuit of Formula 1 championship leader McLaren. The team has made changes to the inlet arrangement, moving it more in line with McLaren’s design. By re-optimizing the inlet, geometry, and stays, Red Bull aims to improve the aerodynamic efficiency of the RB21.
McLaren, on the other hand, has focused on aerodynamic upgrades around the rear of the car and brought a higher-downforce rear wing for the Imola circuit. Ferrari also introduced a higher-downforce track-specific wing, revised rear brake scoop geometry, and winglets for improved performance.
In the midfield battle, Aston Martin, Haas, Alpine, and Racing Bulls have all introduced new components. Aston Martin made seven changes to the AMR25, including new floor body, edge, and diffuser components for increased downforce. Haas revised its floor to ensure consistent performance at varying ride heights.
Mercedes reworked the front of the car with a new front wing and modifications to the front suspension fairings to enhance the flow conditions. Overall, the teams are making strategic aerodynamic upgrades to improve performance and competitiveness in the ongoing Formula 1 season.
